Investor Visa
(Investor ITAS)

If you are interested in starting a business and working in Indonesia, the Investor ITAS might be right for you. Compared to the Work ITAS, the Investor ITAS offers several benefits such as ease of application and waiver of work permit fees. Unlike in the past, Investment ITAS holders no longer need to pay a fee of USD 1,200 annually, if they meet all investment requirements. In addition, once the initial investment has been carried out, in most cases foreign investors can work in Indonesia. There are two types of Investor ITAS: Index 313: 1-year ITAS Index 314: 2-year ITAS To apply for an Investor ITAS, foreign investors are required to have a minimum investment of IDR 1 billion in invested shares in the sponsor company and the company's total invested capital must exceed IDR 10 billion. A newly formed company will be able to become an ITAS sponsor after receiving a Business Identification Number (NIB) and a Business License (SIUP). The required permits can be submitted directly through the Online Single Submission (OSS) system for businesses already operating in Indonesia.

Sponsoring Company Capital Requirements for the Investor KITAS

Before an Investor ITAS can be obtained, the company's authorized capital must exceed IDR 10 billion and there must be a minimum of 25% of the paid-up authorized capital. For companies founded before 2009, the capital requirements may be lower. Finally, investors must first have a minimum value of IDR 1 billion in private shares invested in PMA companies and hold the position of Director or Commissioner. As an Investor who does not hold a position in a PMA company, but with private shares of more than IDR 1.125 billion, you are also entitled to apply for an Investor ITAS, but you are not allowed to work in Indonesia.

If you are an Investor who is declared a Director in your PMA company, you are allowed to work while holding the Investor ITAS. This is regulated in the Manpower Regulation ''Permenaker No. 10 of 2018 concerning Article 10, Article 22, and Article 26 letter C". However, an investor who is declared a Commissioner is not allowed to work, but you can still get a residence permit valid for up to 2 years. If you as a Commissioner also want to be allowed to work, you must have minimum share ownership of IDR 1.125 billion.

The same company can sponsor more than one Investor ITAS. The foreign shares are listed in the Company's Deed of Establishment and the shares are at least IDR 1 billion for each investor/ITAS applicant.
